Understanding the WatchMon - Control Logic - VoltView

Administrative screen for the WatchMon supervisor hardware providing a summary, and how to understand and see the various fields available to configure the Voltage aspect of control logic.

Navigate to the screen via the  Control Logic option on the Menu then choosing the VoltView tab.

Field Definitions

Voltage Readings

Live Readings: values read from device.

Critical High (CV12):  Cell voltage threshold that is OK to operate, if above will change state when monitoring is enabled, output is connected to the Critical Contactor.

CMU Alert High (CV11): Cell voltage alert when above will flash RED led on CellMon.

Charge Cutout (CV10):  Cell voltage threshold to charge up to, if above will stop when enabled to monitor.

Bypass Threshold (CV9):  Bypass Cell Voltage, when above will bypass/bleed power from the cell.

Charge Resume (CV8):  Cell voltage to resume / recover the charging process once the actuals have dropped below the threshold specified.

Nominal (CV7): Nominal Cell Voltage for battery chemistry, info only.

LimPower Dischg (CV6):  Cell voltage that when below will put the system is into limited power mode, hence remove non critical loads or run in limp mode for discharge, only available with Limited power enabled.

LimPower Charge (CV5): Cell voltage that when below will hold the charging process in limited power state until the system recharges above this threshold.

Discharge Resume (CV4):  Cell voltage that if above will resume / restart the discharging process state, when monitoring is enabled.

Discharge Cutout (CV3): Cell voltage that if below will stop the discharging process state, when monitoring is enabled.

CMU Alert Low (CV2): Cell voltage alert when below will flash RED led on CellMon.

Critical Low (CV1): Cell voltage threshold that is OK to operate, if below will change state when monitoring is enabled, output is connected to the Critical Contactor.

Supply Voltage

Live Readings: values read from device.

Critical High (BS6): WatchMon supply voltage threshold that is OK to operate, if above will change state when monitoring is enabled, output is connected to the Critical Contactor.

Charge Cutout (BS5):  WatchMon supply voltage threshold that is OK to operate, if above will stop charging when monitoring is enabled.

Charge Resume (BS4): The shunt State of charge (SoC%) threshold to resume / recover the charging process once the cells have dropped to the threshold specified.

Discharge Resume (BS3):  WatchMon supply voltage that if above will resume / restart the discharging process state, when monitoring is enabled.

Discharge Cutout (BS2):   WatchMon supply voltage that if below will stop the discharging process state, when monitoring is enabled.

Critical Low (BS1):  WatchMon supply voltage threshold that is OK to operate, if below will change state when monitoring is enabled, output is connected to the Critical Contactor.

Shunt Voltage

Live Readings: values read from device.

Critical High (QV9): Shunt voltage threshold that is OK to operate, if above will change state when monitoring is enabled, output is connected to the Critical Contactor.

Charge Cutout (QV8):  The shunt voltage threshold to charge up to, if above will stop when enabled to monitor.

Charge Resume (QV7):   The shunt voltage threshold to resume / recover the charging process once the actuals have dropped below the threshold specified.

Idle Low (QV6):  Shunt voltage threshold that is OK to operate when the current is idle (battery at rest), if below will change state when monitoring is enabled, output is connected to the Critical Contactor.

LimPower Dischg (QV5):  Shunt voltage that when below will put the system is into limited power mode, hence remove non critical loads or run in limp mode for discharge, only available with limited power enabled.

LimPower Charge (QV4):  The shunt voltage that when below will hold the charging process in limited power state until the system recharges above this threshold.

Discharge Resume (QV3):  Shunt voltage that if above will resume / restart the discharging process state, when monitoring is enabled.

Discharge Cutout (QV2): Shunt voltage that if below will stop the discharging process state, when monitoring is enabled.

Critical Low (QV1):  Shunt voltage threshold that is OK to operate, if below will change state when monitoring is enabled, output is connected to the Critical Contactor. This value is both when idle and under discharge/charge currents.
