TROUBLESHOOTING: Device Sync Not Working

Some possible reasons for sync to fail for you to check are from most likely to least likely:

  • Your actual battery pack doesn't match what you have told the system you have e.g. Sometimes people forget Leaf batteries are 2s and put 7 leaf batteries in as 7s instead of 14s. Device Sync tests the communications for the cell settings and tells them their place in the pack and what limits to operate at.

(this would mean no responses come back hence fail).

  • You are trying to do this in wifi mode. Wifi is read only hence you need to change to usb mode.

  • You have extended your CellMon cable with non twisted pair or more than 4m (timeout as response not received in time or too much noise on wires).
  • At least one battery below 2V (distributed cellmons are powered by the battery they are attached to and need minimum 2V power).
  • You are using a WatchMonPlus (Device sync is only needed in decentralised systems) this will probably still mean that wiring does not match what you configured but the consequences are less dire.
  • Firmware doesn't match the software version you are using (depending on changes made this can effect communication sometimes).
