Below is a situation we need to avoid if you want your system to run safely.  Connecting too many terminals to the same stud means that the connection cannot handle it and will potentially overheat and cause damage.  

busbar simply expands your single stud into something more manageable.  By connecting each cable singularly onto a busbar this gives better connections that don't overheat.  Adding fuses as in the below example will further protect your system.
