Tesla Batteries and CellMate-K9

Tesla cells can be monitored via one of our centralised solutions.   CellMate-K9

CellMate K9 is now available and works with 3-16s and is the preferred option as it supercedes the WatchMonPlus option.

Wiring is simpler than with previous designs, WatchMonPlus or MM8 as with CellMate-K9 being 3s-16s it can handle a single battery bank of either 6s 24V or 12s 48V wiring the cells in the bank then using a jumper to indicate the rest aren't used.

We recommend if paralleling banks that it is 1 CellMate-K9 per bank.

Future Plans:   We are working on a retro option so that WatchMon CORE can communicate directly to the original Tesla BMS boards via the Hi-speed CMU.  For larger systems this may be more cost effective but it may be 6-12 months away.

limitations of wiring cells need to increase in voltage as cell number increases jumpers need to be in certain locations to specify no of cells jumpers need to be in certain locations to specify no of cells jumpers need to be in certain locations to specify no of cells

high voltage yes, just add more K9 yes add MM8 use K9 or WM5 instead yes add more MM8
Works with WMC yes no no yes

Single banks or parts of banks where high voltage can be attached to the CellMate-K9, there if 24V multistring you would need one CellMate-K9 per bank but for 48V you can connect two 6s Tesla modules to a CellMate-K9 to make 48V.  With CellMate-K9 jumpers added to channels that aren't being used but voltage needs to increase as channel number increases from 1 to 16

How do I wire up two Tesla modules to a TestMon and then WatchMonPlus (WM5) ?

Note:  You can place jumpers as desired for CellMate-K9 to reduce cells being monitored the voltage just needs to increase and jumpers placed as desired.

If you only have 24v, then this will never suit WM5 and needs to be WM7
